We are partnering with schools in low socioeconomic areas in North India to serve grades 1 to 10. Parents of most of these students have only attended school up to 5th grade and most students spend their time after school in helping to manage family business. Children in these schools also only have 1 computer in their school's computer lab and 1 TV screen that projects videos. There are also no counselors or other aid present in their school besides teachers. The girls, especially, don't have many sources of motivation and have numerous factors working against them. Despite this, many of them still want to attend college or at least a Community College so they can get a decent job and help their families. As a part of this summit, we had various conversations with these girls related to their future and what they wanted to do. We provided them with innovative ideas and extra guidance and support to keep them motivated and engaged in school.
